Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya known as JNV are Indian schools for talented rural children and the attempt to provide them with quality education at low fees. The Navodaya Vidyalaya Scheme was started during the year 1985-86 during the Prime Ministership of Rajiv Gandhi to find and foster talented children from the rural parts of India. They are run by Navodaya Vidyalaya Samiti, New Delhi, an autonomous organization under the Department of School Education and Literacy, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. Sainik School of Gujarat was established in the year 1961 in Jamnagar with the primary aim of preparing boys academically, physically and mentally for entry into the National Defense Academy.
